Search engine optimization, more commonly referred to as SEO, is the practice of optimizing your online content so that a search engine’s algorithm will show your content as the top result for searches of certain keywords. The point is to increase the amount and integrity of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. 

I was very keen to master the process of SEO because, in the past, I have posted content online that would never show up in the top results of a search engine because I never bothered to optimize it for search and this is suicide from a marketing point-of-view because no one will ever be able to find you. 

I also wanted to get in the habit of producing content with strong SEO because, as part of my MTA Portfolio, I have produced a number of websites (I Built My Own Education being one of them) and I wanted each site to be fully optimized for search, because they all form components of my larger career brand ecosystem.
